The Divine Mercy Shrine

One of the places frequently visited in Misamis Oriental is the Divine Mercy Shrine located at a small town of El Salvador. It's outside Cagayan de Oro but is just a few minutes away from the city proper. I've been there twice - the first time was during its feast day two years ago when the gigantic statue of Jesus Christ was yet under construction and the ground was still lifeless looking and dusty with all clay; the second was last Sunday dragging along with me my family and a niece. We got lucky for we were able to go up to the very HEART amidst the pricking heat of the 12 0' clock sun.

*Note that I'll tip off exactly as how we were able to reach the place from our point of origin, the Gaisano City-Mall.

There are jeepneys normally parking with B-3 signage outside the main entrance/exit of the mall. We took it to take us to another ride for El Salvador, but as soon as we had turned right and had started paving our way to the Bulua terminal at about 30 meters, approximately, we stopped and disembarked. Needless to go through for we sighted another jeepney almost full and ready to go with El Salvador signage across the road. We took the ride and merely told the conductor "Divine Mercy". He nodded.

Larry was collected 20Php and 15Php which totaled 70Php for all four of us. As of the present, the minimum fare to the point of destination is only 15Php for adults and 12Php for kids. I, of course, protested for it's not at all fair. I got the excess money paid back;) (I was actually hinted by the lady sitting next to me).

We decended to this place...
